A3 Pro produces stunning multi-screen display
The brief from events company, Reality Ltd, was to create a show-stopping, creative back drop for the ‘UK Music Video Awards’. The annual ceremony is dedicated to celebrating the team behind the music video and their innovative work, therefore the screen had to match this level of creativity to produce an edgy and imaginative display. With over 800 attendees seated at the Roundhouse in London, the product needed to achieve high resolution, have a great viewing angle, and achieve a high performance at a varied viewing distance.
Maestra Group, award winning event design and technical production specialists, were awarded this exciting project and tasked with the execution of the back drop display. The screen requirement was to produce multiple displays, surrounding one focal screen, that could be seen from the entire room, and act as a platform to show high quality music videos, and a picture in picture stream.
Due to the beautifully produced music videos, all to be shown at full HD, the main screen needed to be able to provide full 1920 x 1080 resolution on a large scale in order to showcase the videos to the best quality.
The product that best fit the brief was LED due to its modular design as it can be bespoke to fit the requirement, and make up the various smaller screens, as well as the large main display. As it was an awards ceremony where the audience will be sat in dimmed lighting it also needed to be a product that could provide high brightness to a comfortable level without the risk of a loss of grayscale or image quality.
WHAT WE DID
The final project was made up of a total 225 Absen A3 Pro, 3.9mm LED panels across multiple displays. The main screen was composed of 15 x 9 panels, making up a 7.5m x 4.5m screen. The other displays were made up of 3 x 3 and 3 x 6 panels to create various square and rectangular shaped screens. The fragmented design was achieved using PSCo’s bespoke ground stacking and flying solutions to mount the displays.
The A3 Pro was chosen as it creates high resolution and performs at a viewing distance of only 3 metres. As the audience were at least 5 metres away this product offered the best option for the price point while still providing Full HD resolution.
Tom Allott, Senior Account Manager at PSCo said: “Justin and the Maestra team have visited PSCo at our Reading showroom and also at several trade shows including PLASA and ISE, so were very familiar with the resolution, flexibility and quality of the Absen LED range we offer. The creative arrangement of the tiles looked stunning, and certainly matched the prestigiousness of the awards ceremony.”
Justin Hammond, Managing Director at Maestra, commented: “It was great to work with PSCo on this exciting and enjoyable project, and the Absen A3 Pro was the perfect product for the event!”
